The SouthEast Primary HealthCare Network is the local provider of services specifically tailored to improve the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of primary health care service delivery to the community through General Practice.
Our professional teams are able to provide a variety of services that include training, information and resources to help GPs, Allied Health Professionals and their teams to deliver the highest level of primary health care.
The Logan Region of Queensland is home to about 290,000 people, across 160 different cultures, with the major industry being manufacturing. Its total area is 960 square km. The major suburbs include Rochedale South, Kingston, and Woodridge.
Since the city's inception the local community has grown, not only in numbers, but also in diversity. With an indigenous population of 2% and over 30% of the community born outside of Australia our city life has been enriched by the traditions, languages, food and lifestyle influences from many lands.
Some of the languages represented include Mandarin and Cantonese as well as Samoan, Tongan and Maori. Our community is indeed fortunate to have a wide range of beliefs, tastes and arts to enrich our social fabric. More importantly there is a strong sense of welcoming to all those people of various backgrounds and the contribution they make to our society.
It is a relatively young community with the median age of the population being 34 years of age, 50% of whom are couples with children, and 22% of those children are under 15 years of age. At the other end of the spectrum, the ageing population represents 19.58% of our community.
Our community is supported by 80 General Practices, 58 of which have one or more of the 145 Practice Nurses that work within the region. Within these 80 practices there are 304 GPs which include 113 Female GPs, 74 International Medical Graduates and 14 Medical Registrars.
