eHealth is an important component of the government’s improved primary healthcare system. The National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA) has been established by the Federal Government to develop a set of national standards, protocols and language for a national E-Health system. NEHTA works with state and territory governments to endeavor to meet all legislative requirements for security and privacy. It also highlights how components of the eHealth system contribute to providers being able to deliver fully informed care, leading to better outcomes for patients.
