Gaylene is currently CEO of SouthEast Primary Health Care Network, and has held this position since July 2008.

Gaylene has worked in various executive, business development and educational roles within the non government primary care sector for the last 19 years. As a Registered Nurse she specialized in Palliative Care for several years.

She has led major organizational mergers and business transformation strategies, as well as developing new business initiatives and revenue sources.

Gaylene is an Honorary Visiting Fellow at QUT and was instrumental in the development of Brisbane Leg Clubs based on the Lindsay UK Model, which is part of an international research project through QUT.  Gaylene was curriculum co-author of the QUT Community Practice post graduate course and presented educational consultancies for the Hong Kong Nursing Authority on Nursing Leadership, domiciliary nursing and Palliative Care.

Gaylene has been involved in the National Aged Care Alliance (NACA), ACQ Community Care Committee, UQ and QUT Post Grad Community Nursing and Aged Care Advisory Committees.
Board positions she has held include the Australian Council of Community Nursing Services [ACCNS] Management Committee, Council Member of Aged Care Queensland and Board Member of Anglicare Australia. Gaylene is currently on the RCNA National Advisory Council and Community & Primary Health Care Faculty Advisory Committee.
