Healthcare Identifiers
The draft regulations for the national healthcare identifiers have been revised and the Government will propose amendments to the Healthcare Identifiers Bill to respond to issues raised during public consultation.

$140 Million Funding Boost for Aged Care Services
From 1 July 2010, aged care providers will receive an annual funding boost of more than $140 million through the annual indexation of the care subsidies paid by the Australian Government to residential, community and flexible care services.

$5 Million Boost to Quitline

Indigenous Women's Health Strategy Welcomed
Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Jenny Macklin and Minister for Indigenous Health, Warren Snowdon, have welcomed the release of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women's Health Strategy. The strategy, developed by the Australian Women's Health Network (AWHN) Aboriginal Women's Talking Circle, seeks to address the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous women's health.

More than $8 Million for Services to Help Older People and People with Disabilities in Queensland
Minister for Ageing Justine Elliot and Queensland Disability Services Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk today announced $8.9 million for Home and Community Care (HACC) Services in Queensland. Minister Elliot and Member for Brisbane, Arch Bevis, announced the funding during a visit to the Footprints in Brisbane service in Teneriffe. Footprints in Brisbane provides community-based support for older people who are homeless, people with disabilities and people with mental illness in Brisbane's northern suburbs.
